The Job: UX Designer Senior

As ENGIE Resources pursues its vision of Energy Transition, significant changes are required in the way we work and the tools we use. In order to meet the goals of this transformation, our company needs to identify opportunities to redesign our systems and processes using the latest in digital technology. The UX Designer role plays a central function in evolving our organization to put Design Thinking and User-Centered Design at the heart of how we deliver solutions to our business stakeholders. This individual is highly engaged with stakeholders from all parts of our organization, will lead groups through interactive design workshops, and will create and iterate over mockups and prototypes that are ultimately transitioned to a development team. The UX Designer will incorporate these practices into existing delivery methodologies and promote design concepts in the organization.

Essential Job Functions
  • Lead adoption of the User-Centered Design and Design Thinking process in our organization
  • Partner with PMO leadership to integrate design processes into our project delivery methodology
  • Lead the design phase for large, complex technology projects
  • Facilitate design workshops with stakeholder groups using divergent and convergent thinking to explore alternatives and filter ideas
  • Develop personas and usage scenarios for proposed solutions
  • Analyze user feedback and conduct usability testing to gather insights and iteratively enhance the user experience
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, sitemaps, screen flows, and prototypes. Capture feedback from stakeholders and iterate to incorporate improvements
  • Create reusable graphical assets used by development team to achieve target UX
  • Synthesize large amounts of information from workshops into consumable format and catalog in knowledge sharing repository
  • Document solution requirements in user story format
  • Adhere to Agile processes and methods


Essential Physical Abilities
  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc.
  • Could involve some lifting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, human-computer interaction, graphical design, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in UX design.
  • 5-7 years of experience with Agile concepts and practices.
  • A clear understanding of and Design Thinking concepts and how they are effectively applied to solution delivery process.
  • A solid grasp of User-Centered Design, planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.
  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices.
  • Expertise in standard UX software such as Sketch, OmniGraffle, Axure, InVision, UXPin, Balsamiq, Framer, and the like is a must. Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
  • Excellent facilitation skills with interactive design workshops including 10 or more stakeholders.
  • Experience communicating and advocating for design processes, ideas, and solutions to stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style.
  • Strong leadership skills and a passion for design.
